Srinagar, May 4 (UNI) The Army authorities organised a medical camp in a far off village in south Kashmir where 1500 patients were treated and given free medicines.
The day-long camp, where medical advice, diagnostic facilities, dental treatment and free medicine was provided, was organised yesterday by 1 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) under operation ''Sadbhavana''.
Besides being engaged in counter-insurgency operations, the Army authorities are organising free medical camps, educational tours for students of remote and far flung areas, constructing schools, providing computers to schools and constructing mini hydel projects in the Kashmir valley.
Medical and other camps being established by the Army provides an opportunity to both security personnel and common people to understand each other in more better way, a senior Army officer said at village Kujar in Kulgam where a medical camp was organised for local people.
He said those who attended the camp were provided free meals.
