Vijayawada, May 3 (UNI) The maximum temperature soared to 43.6 degrees Celeius here leaving the people of this city without any reprieve from the oppressive heatwave conditions for the third consecutive day today.
A Met official told UNI the heatwave conditions were due to the dry westerly winds blowing from the north-west.
The heatwave conditions would continue for few more days in the coastal districts of the state, he added.
The maximum temperature recorded yesterday was 43.3 degrees, while the minimum temperature recorded was 25 degrees C, the official said.
Since morning, hot surface winds blew across the city and people preferred to remain indoors.
