Sanjiv Naik files nomination for Thane by-polls
Thane, May 3 (UNI) NCP nominee Sanjiv Naik today filed his nomination papers here for the May 22 by-polls.
Large number of NCP MLAs and leaders were present during the filing of nomination.
Sanjiv Naik, son of Maharashtra Minister and former Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik, was the first mayor of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.

The Thane district, which has total 13 segments, has as many as 24 assembly seats.
The by-polls were necessitated due to the death of sitting MP Prakash Paranjpe from cancer in February last year. His son, Anand, has been given the ticket by the Shiv Sena for the polls.
