Bangalore, May 3 (UNI) Police today resorted to lathi-charge to disperse a bevy of people who tried to barge into an election photo ID card distribution centre in the city today.
Police said a large number of people, including women, had assembled in front of the centre on Tannery Road and the situation went out of control when many of them tried to forcefully enter the office.
When the policemen present could not control the crowd, lathicharge was ordered. The corporation authorities suspended the issue of ID cards and closed down the office, they said.
