Islamabad, May 3 : Pakistan Information Minister Sherry Rehman has said that the new government in Islamabad was committed to taking forward the ongoing peace dialogue process with India. Peace was a pre-requisite for sustainable development and stability in the region, she added.

The minister said that the resolve that the government and parliamentarians of Pakistan would encourage peace activists on both sides to continue carrying forward this noble mission to facilitate and promote people to people contact between the two South Asian nations, reported the Daily Times.

On her day-long visit to New Delhi, Sherry also met several Indian leaders and MPs, including Rahul Gandhi and conveyed condolences on behalf of Pakistan govt on the Nirmala Deshpande's demise.
