International volley-ball player and coach passes away

Surat, May 3 (UNI) An international volleyball player and coach Chimanlal Bhalada died following a heart attack here last evening.

He was 78 and survived by two sons.

Mr Bhlalada, who was training students at Municipal school ground in the city, suffered a heart attack and died on the spot.

He had represented Indian team in Russia and China and was the only player to represent India at international level from Gujarat.

He was ex-sports director of South Gujarat University.

Bhalada, who was master stroke player and smash hitter in the game, was giving free coaching to students.

His sons are badminton and basket-ball coaches at South Gujarat University and Sports Authority of Gujarat respectively.
