Farmers to be accorded top priority: Advani
Sakoli (Bhandara, Maharashtra), May 3 (UNI) Senior BJP leader L K Advani today said the interests of farmers will be the party's top priority if it came to power at the Centre.
Addressing a huge rally of paddy growers here, Mr Advani said the BJP government would take care of the interests of farmers everywhere in the country, including Vidarbha.
''Our government will give complete loan waiver to farmers and also give a price of Rs 1200 per quintal for paddy'', he said.
Later, speaking to reporters, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha expressed confidence that the BJP would get an absolute majority in the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka.
The BJP had received the mandate of the people in the last assembly polls in 2004, but not a majority, he said.''However, this time we will get a mandate as well as a majority,'' he asserted.
