Kolkata, May 3 (UNI) Mr Baburam Bhattarai, the number two leader of the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist, will attend a rally in the city on May 31, to celebrate the electoral victory of Maoists in the Himalayan Kingdom.
''Mr. Bhattarai will be the chief guest at the felicitation-cum-victory rally to be organised by Mazdoor Kranti Parishad (MKP). He will be accompanied by two other CPN-M leaders, including Mr Chandra Prakash Gajurel,'' Amitabha Bhattacharjee, a top functionary of MKP, a radical organisation, today said.
Mr Bhattacharjee said MKP had wanted CPN-M supremo Prachanda to be the chief guest at the rally. But since Mr Prachanda was heavily preoccupied with the task of formation of Government in Nepal and other party matters, he would be represented by Mr Bhattarai.
