Corporates should make separate head for social reponsibility:CM
Ranchi, May 3 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said the annual budget of corporate houses should contain separate head for social responsibility.
Speaking at the National Law Conference on Corporate Social Responsibilities here, Mr Koda said at persent the companies spend money from the profit generated by them.
''The profit or loss should not affect the fund earmarked for social responsibilities by a corporate house,'' Mr Koda asserted.
Expressing concern over regional economic imbalance he said, ''we should think for overall development, as the concept of regional development in terms of economy would create resentment among people.
''This would also leave adverse impact over the country's economy,'' Mr Koda observed.
Earlier, Supreme Court Judge Justice S B Sinha said the state had immense natural, mineral and human resources but they remain unutilised.
Justice Sinha stressed on utilising those resources skillfully for overall development of the nation.
He also expressed concern over delay in establishment of National Law college in the state.
Besides, Jharkhand High Court Chief Justice M Karpagvinayagam, Bar Council of India Chairman S N P Sinha, representatives from other state bar councils were also present in the conference which would conclude tomorrow.
