Hyderabad, May 3 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today reviewed on telephone from New Delhi, the situation at Guntur Chilli yard where a fire broke out, damaging chilli stocks and cold storage units worth crores of rupees.
Dr Reddy, who is in Delhi on an official visit, instructed Chief Secretary Ramakanth Reddy and Fire Services officials to monitor the situation closely and take steps to contain the fire as soon as possible.
He also directed the Collectors of Prakasham and Krishna districts to provide assistance to the Guntur district administration and rush to the spot and also alert the neighbouring districts, according to an official press release.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister's Secretary Prabhakar Reddy told newspersons that the revenue, fire, municipal and all other department officials rushed to the spot to control the fire.
He said relief camps would be set up if any huts located near the yard, were gutted.
