Women's Reservation Bill: Cabinet meet on May 5

New Delhi, May 3: The Union Cabinet will meet on Monday to consider the Women's Reservation Bill to pave the way for its introduction in the ongoing Budget session. The Budget session is scheduled till May 9. Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh informed this to a CPI delegation which called on him here this evening, according to party general secretary A B Bardhan.

The delegation, including CPI secretary D Raja and party leader in Lok Sabha Gurudas Dasgupta, submitted a 3-page memorandum to the Prime Minister on the deteriorating situation in Chhattisgarh and demanded disbanding of Salwa Judum, a controversial anti-Naxalite civil militia formed in 2005, to bring the area dominated by Naxalites back under government control in Chhattisgarh.
