Ujjain, MP, May 3: Claiming that price rise in India was low as compared to rates in several countries across the world, Congress General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has said the Bharatiya Janata Party was ''politicising the issue''.
Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Singh said price rise was at the zenith in several countries and as against the international market, wheat and rice were still very cheap in the country. "The Congress will soon present data and show that inflation was high during the National Democratic Alliance regime,'' he said, adding the NDA government had ''seized'' the rights of state overnments to take action against hoarders and black-marketeers but the present government has given all such rights. Mr Singh said the state governments have not been using these rights against hoarders and black-marketeers.''Inflation will be curbed within a few days if they (state governments) use it stringently,'' he added.
