BJP challenges Naxals to contest polls
Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, May 3 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) today challenged the Naxal organisations operating in the country to prove their claim of public support by contesting elections.
''Naxal violence will not lead to any benefit and innocent tribals mostly fall victim to it. Weapons and violence have no place when it comes to solving any problem in India. When Maoists adopted the democratic path in neighbouring Nepal, they received public support,'' BJP spokesman Ravishankar Prasad told mediapersons here.
Discussing this state's anti-ultra 'Salwa Judum' campaign, Mr Prasad, who is the poll incharge for Chhattisgarh, said it seemed that the rebels were spreading propaganda across the country against the campaign.
