5 killed, 25 injured in road accident in south Gujarat

Surat, May 3 (UNI) Five people including two children were killed on the spot and twenty-five others sustained injuries, five of them seriously, after their truck, turned turtle near Rampura village in Vyara District today.

Injured were taken to Sardar Smarak Hospital, Bardoli where condition of five injured was stated to be critical. Others who received minor injuries were discharged after the first aid, police said.

The incident occurred at around 0900 hrs when the truck's front tyre burst and the truck-driver lost control over the vehicle, police said.

The truck was on its way to Sahada village in Vyara district carrying a marriage party from Ahmedabad. The dead included the father of the bride, police said.

The deceased were identified as Kamruddin Sardar Mansoori (55), Rashid B Mansoori (45), Narsinhbanu Amir Mansoori (55), Kaushalbanu Hakim (13) and Rehana Chandubhai Mansoori (10).
