Rs 52.77 crore plan approved for Kupwara
Srinagar, May 2 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has approved Rs 52.77 crore annual plan for the frontier district of Kupwara where 39,900 hectares of land is proposed to be covered under high yielding varieties.
The annual plan included Rs 5.45 crore as revenue and Rs 47.32 crore as capital component, an official spokesman said today.
He said Rs 8.20 crore have been earmarked for Roads and Buildings sector and Rs 3.25 crore for Public Health Engineering sector while under Social Welfare sector Rs 2.91 crore has been kept aside for the current fiscal year.
There is a target to black top 35 km road length while 80 km will be metalled, 20 km shingled besides 60 m culverts would be constructed during the current financial year in the district.
Similarly, under Agriculture sector 39,900 hectares of land is proposed to be covered under high yielding varieties for which 645 quintals seed of improved varieties and 7600 quintals of fertilisers would be distributed among the farmers.
Under the Social Welfare sector, 509 new Anganwari centres have been sanctioned for the district along Seventeen irrigation schemes have also been sanctioned.
