King XI, Punjab wins by seven wickets

Hyderabad, May 1 (uni) An unbeaten 86 by Australian Shaun Marsh and his unbroken 81-run fourth wicket partnership with Jayawardene(45) enabled King XI Punjab score an emphatic seven wicket win over hosts Deccan Chargers in their crucial tie in the DLF Indian Premier League(IPL) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here tonight.

The King's XI scored 167 for three with S Marsh, son of illustrious former Australian international Geoff, belted 11 boundaries and a six in his first match of the tournament to enable the vistors register their third win from five matches in the tourney.

Marsh was ably assisted by Jayawardene, who hit six boundaries, including the match winning one, as the vistors comfortably went past the target with seven wickets in hand and seven balls remaining.

With this win, King XI Punjab have six points from five matches, while Deccan Chargers have only two points winning only one match and losing four so far.
