Chennai, May 2: After Kollywood actor Shreya Saran, it is the turn of Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat to incur the wrath of a Hindu outfit for her alleged misconduct wearing a sleek attire at a function here, in which the creme de la creme of Hollywood, Bollywood and Kollywood participated.

Police said the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) had lodged a complaint with the Periamet police, demanding ''proper'' action against the Bollywood actor sitting cross-legged in that dress at the audio release function of Kamal Hassan's magnum-opus 'Dasaavatharam', attended by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Hollywood action hero Jackie Chan and Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, among others.

In his complaint, HMK Chennai unit Secretary S R Kaniraj said Mallika, by her sitting posture in front of the Chief Minister, had disrespected moral ethics and conducted herself in an indecent manner.

''By dressing indecently and sitting cross-legged, she has hurt the sentiments of the people of Tamil Nadu, besides causing mental agony,'' he said in the complaint.

Popular actor Shreya, who played the female lead in Rajnikant's blockbuster 'Sivaji-The Boss', courted a similar controversy when she attended a function in a sleek attire, leading to filing of a complaint against her by the HMK. She, however, tendered an apology later.

The HMK had also filed a complaint against actor Khushboo for allegedly disrespecting a Goddess by sitting cross-legged before a portrait of the Goddess at a film muhurat function a few months ago.
