R S Mathoda appointed CBDT Chairman
New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) Mr Rabender Singh Mathoda, a 1971 batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, today took over as Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), bringing to the office his enormous expertise in taxation matters.
Prior to his new assigment, Mr Mathoda was Member (IT) and Member (A&J) in the CBDT.
He also served in various capacities in the Income Tax department as Chief Commissioner in North Western Region (NWR), Shimla and Kolkata and as Commissioner in NWR, Mumbai and Gwalior.
A graduate from the IIT Kharagpur, Mr Mathoda is a person with varied interests and is fond of travel and trekking, photography and reading.
