Militants make abortive bid to blow up security picket
Srinagar, May 1 (UNI) Militants today made an abortive bid to blow up a security force picket in apple township of Sopore in north Kashmir when they hurled a hand grenade.
Official sources said the militants hurled a hand grenade towards a security force picket at a hotel at Sopore, about 55 km from here in Baramulla district. However, the grenade did not exploded and was later defused without causing any damage.
Panic gripped in Saloora in Ganderbal district when a live grenade was found under debris of a house today. Later, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused the grenade, they said.
