Provide essential goods for people: Militants
Imphal, May 1: The militant organisations in Manipur have announced that they will not demand any share from the essential goods meant for the people of the state.
The United National Liberation Front (UNLF), Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) and People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) stated here today that the Manipur government should ensure that the people get kerosene, rice and other essential items regularly at the rates fixed by the government.
''People are supposed to get kerosene at less than Rs 10 per litre and one quintal of AAY rice at Rs 337, BPL rice at Rs 610.80 and APL rice at Rs 856. However, the people are compelled to pay more. Kerosene is now sold at Rs 30 per litre in the black market,'' the outfits stated.
The outfits also stated that they will not allow anybody to sell essential items in the black market and warned officials not to misuse the goods meant for the people.
