Khade wins 100m Freestyle to qualify for Olympics

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) India's Virdhawal Khade, who had already qualified for the Beijing Olympic Games in the 200m freestyle, won the 100m Freestyle on the opening day of the 51st MILO/PRAM Malaysia Invitation Open at Kuala Lumpur today.

The 16-year-old Virdhawal, who hails from Kolhapur and trains at the KCR Swim Center at Bangalore under Nihar Ameen, clocked a time of 50.66sec in the heats to go well under the Olympic Qualifying time of 50.95seconds.

Earlier last year, Khade clocked the qualifying time at the 2007 World Swimming Championships held at Melbourne, Australia.
