Patna, May 1 (UNI) With the announcement of result of Tirhut Graduate constituency today, where JD(U) candidate Devesh Chandra Thakur defeated RJD candidate Veen Devi by over 1700 votes, results of all the eight seats from Graduate and Teacher constituency in Bihar Legislative Council were formally declared.
The results for seven seats were declared yesterday itself when the counting was taken up but the result of Tirhut seat was formally announced today.
Polling for all the eight seats was held on April 28.
The NDA captured five seats - three by the JD(U) and two by the BJP, while the RJD, CPI(M) and CPI managed to win one seat each.
According to the official sources, In Kosi graduate constituency, Birkeshwar Singh of BJP was declared winner, who defeated Yogendra Mahto by 7513 votes.
In Saran Teacher constituency, Kedar Pandey of the CPI defeated Chandarma Singh of Congress.
In Patna Teacher constituency, RJD candidate Prof Nawal Kishore Yadav defeated JD(U) candidate Janardan Prasad Singh by over 600 votes, while in Patna Graduate constituency JD(U) candidate Neeraj Kumar defeated RJD candidate Azad Gandhi by over 6000 votes.
In Darbhanga Teacher constituency, CPI(M) candidate Basudeo Prasad Singh defeated NDA candidate Prof Hari Narain Singh by 1902 votes.
In Darbhanga Graduate constituency, JD(U) candidate Vinod Chaudhary defeated Congress candidate Dr Dillip Chaudhary.
In Tirhut Teacher constituency, BJP candidate Narendra Prasad Singh was declared winner.
The eight constituencies, where polling was held on April 28, were Patna graduate, Patna Teacher, Tirhut graduate, Tirhut Teacher, Darbhanga graduate, Kosi graduate, Darbhanga Teacher and Saran Teacher.
