Basti, Apr 30 (UNI) Charges were today proved against former Samajwadi Party (SP) district chief Ramvriksha Yadav and six others in a murder case.
According to the prosecution, on August 25, 2007, Mahatam Yadav died after being indiscriminately fired at by desperadoes during gram pradhan election at Jainarayan Inter College in Dhanghata area.
Later, the deceased's family charged the SP leader, his government bodyguard Prem Singh, Ram Pujan, Subhash Yadav, Hanuman Yadav, Manoj Gupta and Virendra Yadav with murdering Mahatam.
On the basis of circumstantial evidence and testimony, the Fast Track Court (III) Judge Devi Shankar Prasad Srivastava found the accused guilty of the crime.
The court reserved its verdict till May 2 and ordered to send the accused in judicial custody till the next hearing.
