Bangalore, Apr 30 (UNI) The Mysore-based Avadhoota Datta Peetham will be holding a seven-day extravaganza from May 25 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Nadamantapa and also to celebrate the 66th birthday of its pontiff Sri Ganapati Sachidananda Swamiji, Datta Peetham Executive trustee H V Prasad said today.
Addressing a press conference here, he said that the celebrations include a five-day Brahmotsava of the Balaji temple, music concerts by Dr L Subramaniam, Dr Balamurlikrishna, a performance by Prabhat Kalavidaru based on bhajans by the Swamiji and a jazz recital by an Australian group.
He said that on the occasion five eminent persons in the fields of Veda, Shastra, Naada and Social Service would be honoured with titles and felicitated. 'Veda Nidhi' title will be awarded to Dr Vishnubhada Subramanya Salakshna Ghanapathi of Andhra Pradesh, 'Shastra Nidhi' on Chinasikar of Maharashtra, 'Nada Nidhi' on Dr Ajoy Chakraborty of Kolkata, 'Vishwa Bandhu' on Sri Raviji from Trinidad and 'Vishwa Hindu' title on Dr Aravinda Sharma, Indologist from USA.
Mr Prasad said that the recent seven-day International Hanuman Heritage Festival held from April 10 at the Dattatreya Yoga Centre in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies attracted more than five lakh hindus settled in that country. The festival was organised with the active participation of the government of Trinidad and Tobago and the University of West Indies.
