New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) A senior member of the Lok Sabha today asked the government to seek the help of the Interpol in tracing the missing ship M V Rezzak with 25 crewmen from India on board.

Mr Anant Geete (Shiv Sena) raised the issue during the zero hour, while pointing out that it was not clear if the ship drowned or was hijacked.

He said the ship began its journey from Russia to Turkey. But it was missing since April 17 with no trace of its whereabouts.

Mr Geete asked the government to find out if the crewmen of the ship were alive. This could be done only with the help of the Interpol, he ponted out.

Earlier, CPI(M) member Hannen Mollah complained that work on the reconstruction of the tsunami-affected areas of Andaman and Nicobar had been progressing at snail's pace.

He said he had visited the island recently and discovered to his dismay the continuing misery of the people there.

He said several works could not be completed for want of clearance from the Ministry of Forests and Environment.

Mr Moollah asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to intervene in the matter and issue a direction to the Forest department to extend their help in the reconstruction exercise.

In this context, he pointed out that 93 per cent of the areas in Andaman and Nicobar were forest areas.
