Kolkata, Apr 30 (UNI) A day after the ignominous defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders today flew to Jaipur sans Ricky Ponting and Brendon McCullum to play Rajasthan Royals tomorrow.
Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who had a very poor stint in the Indian Premier League's T-20 with total 39 ( 20,0,0,19) in four matches, left for his country to play West Indies next month.
New Zealander Brendon McCullum, whose hurrican 156 steered Riders to win the IPL opener against Bangalore, also left for home to play for his country.
West Indies captain Chris Gayle down with groin injury was almost ruled out after a hairline crack was found by an MRI here.
KKR physio Andrew Leipus took the West Indian allrounder for an MRI and the hairline crack in the groin was confirmed. He has also assignment in home to play Australia from May 22 in Kingston.
