Moga, Apr 30 (UNI) Police today claimed to have made a major drug haul with seizure of 21,87,480 tablets besides a huge quantity of capsules and cough syrups being misused as narcotic sunstances.
Senior Superintendent Police, Moga Ashok Baath claimed that a police party headed by DSP Bhulla Singh on a tip-off raided the residence of notorious drug smugglers Manjit Kumar at his native village Daulatpura Neewan residence last evening.
During the search, which lasted for more than five hours, the police party seized at least 21,87,480 narcotic drugs tablets of momotel, phonotel, Nendia etc. Besides, police also seized 26295 capsules, 19400 cought syrups being used as drugs and 1072 injections of various brands.
According to the SSP, when the police party raided the residence of drug smuggler Manjit, his main accomplice Ninder Singh, a resident of Longodeva of Ferozepur district was also present at his house and the police arrested both.
The investigations revealed that they used to bring drugs and narcotics from Ludhiana and were running illegal chemist shop at his residence without any licence.
