Liberhan Commission gets 45th extension
New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) The term of the Liberhan Commission probing the circumstances leading to the demolition of the disputed Babri Masjid structure in Ayodhya was today extended till June 30.
The 45th extension has been notified by the Home Ministry.
The one-man inquiry commission headed by Justice M S Liberhan has already completed the hearing and is compiling the final reports.
The commission was formed by the P V Narsimha Rao government ten days after the demolition of the structure on December 6, 1992.
The statements of several politicians, bureaucrats and police officials had been recorded by the Commission so far.
Prominent leaders, including former Uttar Pradesh Chief Ministers Kalyan Singh and Mulayam Singh Yadav, then prime minister P V Narasimha Rao, BJP leaders L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and its expelled leader Uma Bharati, had been summoned by the Commission.
