Jyotiraditya happy with IT, Communications portfolios
Mumbai, Apr 30 (UNI) Expressing happiness over the allotment of the Communications and IT portfolios, Union Minister of State Jyotiraditya Scindia today said these ministries had the potential of reaching the Central government's schemes to every nook and cranny of the country with complete accountability and transparency.
Mr Scindia was talking to reporters after launching the first electronic money order service from Dubai to Mumbai. He handed over the first EMO today which was dispatched by Shailesh and received here by Allwyn Montario.
Mr Scindia said his stint as a minister thus far has been exciting, like a 24x7 trip full with energy and commitment.
''I follow my father's advice of listening more than speaking after becoming a minister,'' he said.
On the post offices network, he said there are 155,000 post offices in the country. There are nearly 25 million Indians who are living in 110 different countries across the world, he pointed out. Mr Scindia informed that there were 300 million mobile subscribers in the country with eight million more being added every month.
