Heat wave abates, but hot weather prevails in UP
Lucknow, Apr 30 (UNI) Even as heat wave conditions abated in all the divisions of Uttar Pradesh, hot weather continued to play havoc, claiming one more life overnight.
Fresh death was reported from Chitrakoot, where one Baldev Yadav (50) died of sun stroke mounting the death toll to five so far.
Appreciable increase in day temperature was recorded in Kanpur, Lucknow, Jhansi and Agra divisions.
Due to the blistering heat, the holy city Varanasi and Chitrakoot witnessed a dip in the number of pilgrims and foreign tourits visiting the city.
Hamirpur in Jhansi division remained the hottest with 45.2 degrees Celsius, whereas Gorakhpur was at 40 degrees C, Kanpur 43.4, Lucknow 42.6, Agra 44.4, Banda 41.4, Varanasi and Sultanpur at 44.2 each.
The wethermen have forecast mainly dry weather in the next 24 hrs.
