HC stays union minister's son;s arrest
Allahabad, Apr 30 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today stayed the arrest of Sidhharth Prakash Jaisawal, son of Union Minister Sri Prakash Jaisawal in connection with a land grabbing case.
Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) Nayab Tehsildar had lodged an FIR against the son of the Cabinet Minister at police station Chakeri, Kanpur under section 467, 468, 471, 419, 420 and 447 of IPC.
The allegation against the Minister's son was that he had grabbed the land of KDA worth several crores.
A division bench comprising Justices Vinod Prasad and A K Singh, gave this decision on a writ petition filed by Sidhharth Jaisawal.
On the contrary, the minister's son said FIR was politically motivated, as till date he had received no notice from any department.
The petitioner has alleged that he has purchased the land in the question from landowners, as it is not the land of KDA.
The Court will hear the case in the last week of July.
