Ranchi, Apr 30 (UNI) The designated CBI court today handed down punishment to the remaining 22 accused in the multi-crore fodder scam case unearthed in erstwhile Bihar.
They were handed down jail terms varying between three to six years.
Yesterday the court had handed punishment to eleven accused involved in the case of fraudulently withrawing about Rs 15.5 crores from the Jamshedpur treasury.
The court of special judge Manoranjan Kavi also slapped fines varying between Rs three lakh to Rs 1.2 crores on the accused. The fine of Rs 1.2 crores was imposed on one Md Tauheed.
The punishment would be increased to three more months if there was delay in payment of the fine, the court said.
The chargesheet was filed against 39 people, but one among them died during the trial and another pleaded guilty before the court.
On April 23 the court acquitted two persons and awarded punishement to two others.
