We are improving through every match: Dhoni

By Staff

Bangalore, Apr 28 (UNI) Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who led his team to fourth consecutive win in the DLF-Indian Premier League with today's 13-run win over Bangalore Royal Challengers, said his team had now matured so well that it was poised to finish on top.

''We are playing very well and the players are playing their part to a nicety. This gives me a hunch that we are poised to play better in this tournament,'' said a confident Dhoni in a post match press conference.

He said once the team saw the back of Ross Taylor and Wasim Jaffer, who both scored half centuries, he thought his boys could force a win against the hosts.

''The two batsmen played very well and we were in trouble.

But we always believed in ourselves and pressed hard. We took wickets at crucial juncture that helped us win,'' he said.

On his batting Dhoni said with Hussey playing with supreme confidence on the other end took off the pressure from his shoulders.

''Hussey was playing so fluently. This helped me go after the Challenger bowlers. Yes, the final two overs were important but My partner (Hussey) helped me get it,'' he added.

A visibly disappointed Rahul Dravid said his team was in contention but the Chennai team held on well to win.

''We did not finish well both while bowling and while batting.

This was crucial,'' he said.
