Shimla, Apr 29 (UNI) Shimla today recorded the hottest day of this summer at 26.6 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature at Una town surged to 40.8 degrees Celsius following another sunny day today, the met office said.
The maximum temperature in the state capital rose by a few notches to 26.6 degrees Celsius as against 26 degrees recorded yesterday.
The met office said the day temperature at Una town surged to 40.8 degrees, which was the hottest place in the state during the last 24 hrs, as compared to 40 degree Celsius recorded yesterday.
The day temperature at Sundernagar rose to 37.1 degrees followed by 32.9 at Bhuntar, 21 at Kalpa in Kinnuar and 32.6 degrees at the famous tourist resort of Dharamshala in Kangra district.
Mandi town was also hot at 37.4 degrees, the met office added.
The night temperature at Shimla town rose by more than a degree to stand at 15.7, 14.3 at Sundernagar, 9.8 at Bhuntar, four at Kalpa and 19.5 degrees at Dharamshala.
The minimum temperature at Mandi rose by a few notches to stand at 15.5 degrees, while Una town recorded a night temperature at 14.5 degrees.
The met office has forecast rain and thundershowers at isolated places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
