Samsung India to launch BD-2

Kolkata, Apr 29(UNI) Digital technology leader Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd. plans to launch in the Indian market, Samsung BD-2, the industry's first home theatre-in-a-box to integrate Blu-ray playback.

" We are going to launch very soon Samsung BD-2, a 7.1 channel home theatre system delivering 1100 watts of surround sound and full HD1080p Blu-ray play back" company's Managing Director R Zutshi today said.

Samsung today announced launch of its next generation DVD Players in the Indian Market, including its first Blu-ray player BD-P1400.

Priced at Rs 5,900, the flagship model of the new 2008 DVD range is the Samsung Pebble ( DVD F1080), which is an ultra Compact High Definition 1080p up conversion DVD Player.

" The introduction of newest line of DVD and Blu-ray players will offer more striking look, a clearer sound, more stunning colour and easier connectivity than ever before", Mr Zutshi said.

He said the BD-P1400 model which was priced at Rs 29,000, had been designed with fans of multimedia technology in mind, providing Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus audio playback, high resolution and Master Audio facilities.

In addition to the Pebble and BD-P1400, Samsung today also announced the launch of seven new DVD Players in the Indian market.
