Chennai, Apr 29 (UNI) Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Customs officials in a joint operation seized 2.7 kg heroin valued at Rs 2.7 crore in the international market from a foreigner at the Anna International airport here today.
Airport officials said, acting on a tip-off the DRI and Customs sleuths intercepted a Kuala Lumpur-bound passenger Rachal Take Wink (35) from Philippines, who landed here from Delhi.
When the sleuths checked the suitcase of Wink, they found the narcotic substance concealed in a polythene cover and arrested him.
In another seizure, officials of the Airport customs arrested Azagesan (30) from Tiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu on the charge of carrying ten kg of Ketamine hydrochloride powder valued at Rs one crore in the international market.
The powder was concealed in a suitcase with some other items.
Later, he was handed over to the airport police.
