Fertiliser prices to be kept in check: Paswan
Gwalior, Apr 29 (UNI) Expressing ''concern'' over galloping inflation, Union Steel, Fertiliser and Chemicals Minister Ramvilas Paswan today reiterated that fertiliser prices would be kept in check and assured that the country had an abundant stock of urea, Di-Ammonium Phosphate and potash.
''We are enhancing fertiliser production. Due to my ministry's efforts, medicine prices have been stable for the past three years.
The country has an annual medicine business of Rs 50,000 crore,'' he told mediapersons here.
Announcing that the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections would be fought under Lok Janshakti Party Vice-President Phool Singh Baraiya who would be projected as the chief ministerial candidate, Mr Paswan added that Madhya Pradesh was supplied more fertiliser than it demanded.
''A steel factory will be set up here soon and all the formalities have been completed by the Steel Ministry but the land remains to be allotted. Steel-processing plants set up at Hoshangabad and Ujjain would be inaugurated next month,'' he said.
