Celebrations to mark 'guruhood' of Guru Granth Sahib
New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) The Centre has approved development projects at Anandpur Sahib and Talwandi Sabo as part of plans to mark the ter-centenary of 'Guru-ta-Gaddi' of Guru Granth Sahib, the Rajya Sabha was informed today.
The government has given its approval for taking up the development of Anandpur Sahib and Talwandi Sabo as commemorative projects under the ter-centenary celebrations of Guru-ta-Gaddi of Guru Granth Sahib -- the announcement of the Tenth Sikh Guru to bestow guruhood on Sri Granth Sahib -- in October this year.
The government has approved funding to the tune of Rs 17957.77 lakh to the Punjab Government -- for Anandpur Sahib Rs 9973.77 lakh and for Talwandi Sabo Rs 7984 lakh -- Minister of Tourism and Culture Ambika Soni informed the upper house in a written reply.
