Jammu, Apr 29 (UNI) A local court today granted more 15 days judicial remand to Captain Chataniya Bhatwadaker, husband of 26-year-old army officer Capt Megha Razdan, whose body was found hanging at their official residence on the city outskirts here last year.
Captain Chatanlya was produced in custody by the Gangyal Police to the Court for remanding the accused to further judicial custody, sources here said.
According to the police case that Captain Chatanya Bhatwadekar husband of deceased Capt Mega Razdan who was found hanging on July 1, 2007 at Kunjwani Army Quarters was arrested on charges of abetting the murder of his army officer wife and was booked under sections 306 (abetment) and 498-A (cruelty) RPC.
However, Forest Magistrate after hearing directed the inspecting officer to produce the accused after completion of the remand period before the Court.
The death of the lady officer had sparked a controversy last year and a suicide note, which was recovered from her residence, allegedly said she was committing suicide as she was being harassed by her seniors in the Army.
Capt Megha Razdan and her husband were posted in 113 Engineering Regiment.
