Mumbai, Apr 28 (UNI) Asia Motor Works (AMW), the latest entrant in the Heavy Commercial Vehicle industry, today announced the expansion plans for its auto component division by setting up the world's largest single location wheel rim plant.
The company also has a press shop unit with a capacity of one lakh tonnes per annum. With an investment of Rs 500 crore, the auto component facility would cater to producing components for all sorts of vehicles, Anirudh Bhuwalka, Managing Director, Asia MotorWorks told newsmen here. He said, ''AMW has received an overwhelming response in the CV sector. The Industry has transformed itself into a global hub for sourcing a range of high-value and critical automobile components. Tremendous growth in the Indian market has certainly increased the demand for auto components. Thus, entering the auto component segment was a natural move in our expansion plan.'' The company has set up the world's largest single location wheel rim plant in Bhuj, Gujarat. In close proximity to the Kandla and Mundra port, the 600 acres facility, has the ''State-of-the-Art'' manufacturing techniques. The automated styling of the facility ensures high standards of quality, thus minimizing manual factors.
