All seeded players progressed to the next round

New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) Parsvnath National Under-9 (Boys and Girls) Chess Championship got off to a rousing start here today, as all seeded players had an easy day in the office as they progress to the next round with full point in their kitty .

Top seed Arjun Bharat of Karnataka beats Manan Rai of Delhi and second seeded Hetul Shah of Gujarat defeated Manthan Chittora of Rajasthan without much struggle here.

Local favourite Harshal Shahi also got better off Naman Gulati of Punjab in the first round.

In the girls section, Twice world under-8 girls' champion and top seed Ivana Furtado of Goa started her tournament campaign in style as she overpowered her Madhya Pradesh rival Anjali Murthy in the first round match.

Commonwealth Under-10 gold medallist and second seed Meghna C H of Kerala also registerd her victory with a bang as she overcame her rival Nagadirthi of Tamilnadu.

All together 179 players in boys and 85 in girls section from across the country are participating in this prestigious championship.
