AICF to conduct FIDE courses in India

Chennai, Apr 29 (UNI) The All India Chess Federation(AICF) will conduct FIDE-trainer and FIDE instructor courses here from April 30 to May 7, for coaches and trainers in India under the direct supervision of FIDE.

Presently, the training is being imparted at FIDE Trainers Academy in Germany or Singapore and become a FIDE trainer or instructor. This involved expenditure for airfare and Boarding&Lodging, apart from the course fees.

AICF will offer this facility for India's coaches, according to AICF Secretary D V Sundar here.

FIDE senior trainer IM Jovan Petronic of Serbia and FIDE trainer FM Peter Long of Malaysia will conduct the course and the examination. FIDE trainer Proful Zaveri from Mumbai will be the coordinator.

Four titles can be achieved through this facility- FIDE trainer, FIDE instructor, National Instructor and Developmental Instructor.

So far, 20 candidates including International Master Neeraj Kumar Mishra, FIDE Master G B Joshi and International player V Hariharan have confirmed their participation.

Basic methods of teaching, End Game studies, playing strength assessment, decision making, time management techniques and modern methods of training.
