New Delhi, Apr 29: The Congress today came down heavily on Leader of the Opposition L K Advani for his statement dubbing the UPA government as the most corrupt in India's history.
"Mr Advani has problem with facts,"AICC Spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told mediapersons, while pointing out how 'erroneous' was his statement on Indo-US Nuclear agreement and also the contraditions and bloomers in his autobiography 'My Country, My Life." "Mr Advani does not have his facts right," she said, while claiming that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his team had been successful and provided good governance in the past four years.
Ms Natarajan said corruption was the hallmark of the previous BJP-led NDA government with the BJP President Bangaru Laxman himself being caught on camera while receiving bribe.
"This being so, Mr Advani had no moral authority to point a finger at the probity of the government," she said.
Addressing a meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting here today, Mr Advani alleged that Prime Minister Singh was presiding over the most corrupt government in India's history.
