US submits bids to build India's multi-role combat fighter
New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) The United States today submitted the proposals for India's medium multi-role combat aircraft competition on behalf of Boeing and Lockheed Martin, two leading American aerospace companies.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) planners would have an opportunity to review the capabilities of two of the world's top two combat fighters -- Boeing's F-18 Super Hornet and Lockheed Martin's F-16 aircraft -- with the US government's support.
The US Embassy here today submitted the proposals to the Government of India, a statement by the American Embassy here said.
Boeing and Lockheed Martin have unmatched experience in the kinds of new technologies which were of growing interest and importance for the US-India defence partnership.
More than 100 countries across the world already see American companies as their principal partners in defence and technology sales, it added.
The United States backs both Lockheed Martin and Boeing as competitors in the IAF tender as reliable and desirable partners who could deliver the world's best technology to the world's largest democracy, the statement said.
