Teens repeat 'Nitahari Act' in Andaman
Port Blair, Apr 28 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Middle and North Andaman region following murder of two minor girls after being allegedly raped by teenage boys as Andaman Police today busted the serial 'Nitahari'-like killing case.
All shops and business establishments remained closed.
There were also some minor incidents of violence regarding the murder case.
Police said the first murder was committed in March, while the second on April 24 last.
Papri Biswas and Sunitha Laldar, both 14 years, of Diglipur in North Andaman, became victim of a gang of boys studying in ninth and tenth standard.
The fourth murderer is running a tuition centre in Diglipur Deputy Superintendent of Police of North Andaman Daya Shankar Singh told 'UNI' today '' we have arrested all four and lodged a case against them.
The matter became public following the kidnapping of Papri Biswas on April 24 when police arrested a few boys and interrogated them.
During police interrogation one boy reportedly broke down and admitted to the crime. Later he took the police to a creek area where he along with three others had thrown the body after chopping it into pieces.
The police recovered the bodies packed in two separate bags.
Further interrogation revealed that the other body was of Sunitha Lalder, who was killed by the same gang in similar manner, nearly a month back, Singh added.
Sunitha had been missing since March.
Villagers, shocked at the incidents have been demanding severe punishment against the murderers.
