Mumbai, Apr 28 (UNI) The police have issued notices to over 400 activists of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), warning that if any untoward incident takes place during Raj Thackeray's rally at Shivaji Park on May 3, they and their leader would be held responsible.

Raj Thackeray, president of MNS, had announced on April 19 that a mammoth rally would be held at Shivaji Park on May 3, where he would make his party's stand on various issues clear and also chart out the future course of action for the party.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) A Dhumare has been issuing the notices for the past three days to different activists in the city and other parts of the state, warning of strict action if any law and order problem is created during the rally, police sources told UNI.

Raj and his party activists have been in the news for the last few months for their attack on North Indians staying in the metropolis and other parts of the state.

Raj had been arrested and released on bail for inflammatory speeches against the North Indians and thus disturbing the peace among the different sections of society. Last month, he had also been banned by the police from holding any press conference or addressing any public rally.
