Peshawar, Apr 28 : Pro-Taliban militants in the Pakistan's tribal areas on Monday beheaded a policeman accusing him of spying for security forces.

Shaukat Khan's, 35, body was found dumped in a field a day after he was abducted by gunmen, senior police officer Mumtaz Zarin told a foreign news agency.

A note found near the body said he was involved in the killing of militant warlord Nek Mohammad in a suspected US missile strike in June 2004 in the region, Zarin said.

"He had admitted his role in providing intelligence to the authorities," the note said.

According to the Dawn, Khan was working as a tribal policeman at a local administration office in South Waziristan's Wana town.
