Kochi, Apr 28 (UNI) Kerala PWD Minister Mons Joseph today formally inaugurated a housing complex designed and constructed completely on the basis of 'vastushastra', including the roads and water reservoirs, here.
The 'Heera Vasthugramam', spread over ten acres, comprises 120 independent villas.
Heera Constructions Managing Director A R Babu said noted vastu expert Kanippayyur Krishnan Namboothiripad had designed the complex, combining the best of traditional values with modern conveniences.
Company General Manager A R Nair claimed that this was the first complex of its kind in the whole of Asia and said the Heera Constructions was planning to approach the Guinnes Book of Records to feature the unique complex.
The ancient Indian science of 'vastu' was now termed as ''eco-friendly construction'', Mr Nair said, adding special care had been taken on availability of sunlight, air and fresh water in the complex.
''We are sure that the people living in the complex will experience immense peace and prosperity,'' he added.
In the second phase of the project, to be spread over another five acres, flats would be constructed, he said.
