New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) It was a moment of great joy for Rajya Sabha member Dr K Kasturirangan, one of the architects of the country's space programme, to see the whole House extending congratulations to him over the success of the India Space Research Organisation(ISRO) mission of launching a record number of 10 satellites by PSLV-C simultaneously.
As soon as the House assembled for the day, Chairman Hamid Ansari said it was matter of great pride for the country that the ISRO had accomplished the unique mission with such precision.
The House extends hearty congratulations to the Indian space scientists and wishes them further success in their efforts, he said.
At this point, one member said Dr Kasturirangan, who had a long association with ISRO and was the driving spirit behind its various missions, was present in the House and he should be congratulated personally.
The Chairman then said the House was indeed thankful to people like Dr Kasturirangan for their contribution to the country's space programme and felt great happiness in congratulating him personally for the success of the ISRO mission.
He said the launch of a record number of 10 satellites simultaneously was proof of India's growing mastery over space sciences.
