Great Lakes Institute to open Rs 50 crore campus in Jan 2009
Mumbai, Apr 28 (UNI) Chennai-based Great Lakes Institute of Management will be opening a Rs 50 crore campus at Manamai, 55 km away from Chennai, in January 2009.
This was announced by founder and Dean of the institute, Dr Bala V Balachandran, in a press conference, here today.
''We have received a bank loan of Rs 35 crore and Rs 10 crore in pledges. We are confident of getting the balance from educational institutions and philanthropists,'' Dr Balachandran said.
''The campus, which will be built on donations and loans, will be a ''Green'' wi-fi enabled residential, spread over 14 acres. It will be built in two phases. The first phase will accommodate classrooms, hostels and libraries, while the second will house amphitheatres and auditorium in an area of 80,000 sq ft,'' he added.
